Mayan Cacao Connection with Nana Mimi

  • Maya Moon Collective 3349 Adams Avenue San Diego, CA, 92116 United States (map)

Join us for a rare and intimate evening of sacred cacao, ceremony, and heart-opening connection guided by Miriam Novichoc, lovingly known as Nana Mimi — a third-generation Tz’utujil Mayan elder, womb healer, firekeeper, and guardian of ceremonial cacao traditions from Lake Atitlán, Guatemala.

Rooted in ancient Mayan wisdom passed down through generations, this gathering invites you into remembrance through cacao, song, and embodied healing practices. Together we will honor the wisdom of the heart and the spirit of the cacao seed within a deeply intentional ceremonial space.

More than a ceremony, this Mayan Cacao Connection offers a powerful opportunity to learn directly from an Indigenous elder devoted to preserving and transmitting the sacred traditions of ceremonial cacao medicine with reverence, authenticity, and love.

Come receive, reconnect, and experience the living wisdom of Cacao.

About Nana Mimi:

Nana Mimi is a highly respected Mayan spiritual elder and wisdom keeper from the Tz’utujil tribe of Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. She is a guardian of sacred womb traditions, a keeper of ceremonial cacao, and a firekeeper within the Mayan spiritual path.

Her teachings are rooted in traditional Mayan womb healing, ceremony, and the living wisdom passed down through her family for generations. This lineage was carried by her mother and grandmother, and today Nana Mimi and her siblings continue to steward these sacred teachings.

Deeply connected to the land, the elements, and the spiritual forces honored within the Mayan calendar (Cholq’ij), Nana Mimi guides students through ceremony, prayer, and embodied learning. She is a protector of the cacao seed and its ceremonial traditions, teaching how cacao is prepared, honored, and served as a medicine of the heart. Through her guidance, we experience cacao as both a plant teacher and ceremonial ally.

She leads traditional Mayan fire ceremonies, honoring the sacred hills, the ancestors, and the spirits of the land.

As a guardian of the womb and feminine wisdom, Nana Mimi teaches the importance of ceremony for the womb and shares traditional Mayan healing techniques that support fertility, emotional release, and spiritual empowerment.

Through her presence, Nana Mimi embodies the living lineage of Mayan traditions, ensuring these sacred practices are shared with respect and integrity.
